The prophet Isaiah declares that it was no messenger or angel that saved the people of Israel, but the very presence of God redeemed them. This presence of God in the person of Jesus is our Christmas celebration. The Philethia Choir sings “Carol of the Bells.” The hymns are (numbers from ELW): 288, 279, 299, and 290.
