The members of St. John’s Altar Guild work to ensure that all things necessary for the proper conduct of worship are in place. Their duties include the care of the altar linens and other liturgical items such as the Eucharistic vessels, elements, vestments, candles, and small furnishings for the altar. Communion preparation is performed by members on a rotating basis. Contact: Jocelyn Starner, 610-759-3205
As with the weekly bulletins and altar flowers, the Media system incurs weekly costs to produce and distribute CDs of each 8:00 a.m. Sunday service for the congregation’s shut-ins. Sponsoring a recording of the worship service is a wonderful way to remember or honor a family member or friend, or an event such as a baptism or an anniversary, while providing a valuable service to those members in our church who are homebound or unable to attend a church service. When you sponsor a CD, the dedication is published in that Sunday’s bulletin. Suggested sponsorship is $25. To sponsor the CD Ministry, please sign up for your desired date in the notebook found in the rear of the nave. For more information, contact Lois Davis at 610-504-1635.
This sub-committee of the Worship & Music Committee arranges for seasonal decorations such as the Lenten and Easter crosses, the Harvest Home displays, Advent wreath and trees, and dedicated floral arrangements such as the Easter lilies, Memorial Day geraniums, and the poinsettias at Christmas.
Includes: Greeters, Ushers, Lectors, Acolytes, Nursery Assistants
Each week, members of the congregation assist during worship by offering a friendly welcome to other congregants, lighting the candles, reading the scripture lessons aloud during the service, collecting the offering, and taking care of our youngest members.
